PlayStation players are getting a strong mix of RPG, war shoot-em-up, strategy, sport and an extra game this September, with four new free titles available to all PlayStation Plus Essential members. Whether you enjoy open‑world survival, atmospheric sci‑fi horror, or chilled multiplayer exploration, the September lineup has something for everyone.
Below is a breakdown of the four games you can download and keep while your PS Plus membership is active.
Chained Echoes (PS4) is a retro‑style 16-bit turn-based JRPG set on the war-torn continent of Valandis.
You control a group of heroes trying to bring peace to three warring kingdoms while stopping a destructive weapon of mass destruction.
Flow: Fast exploration, no random encounters, and full party health/TP restoration after every battle to eliminate tedious grinding.
Combat: Fast-paced turn-based battles featuring an Overdrive Gauge (balancing attack power to prevent overheating) and piloting giant Sky Armour mechs.
Sniper Elite: Resistance (PS5, PS4) is a WW2-era third-person tactical shooter and standalone spin-off in the Sniper Elite series.
Set in 1944 alongside the events of Sniper Elite 5, you play as SOE agent Harry Hawker, fighting alongside the French Resistance in occupied France to uncover and dismantle a secret Nazi chemical superweapon.
Invasion & Multiplayer: Includes full campaign co-op, competitive multiplayer modes, and “Axis Invasion,” allowing another player to jump into your campaign game as an enemy sniper to hunt you down.
Tactical Sniping & Stealth: Features large open-ended sandbox maps where you use long-range rifle mechanics, sound-masking, traps, and stealth to eliminate enemy forces.
X-Ray Kill Cam: Retains the series’ iconic slow-motion X-ray camera showing the destructive internal impact of successful long-range shots.
MLB The Show 26 (PS5) is the flagship 2026 entry in Sony San Diego Studio’s authentic baseball simulation series, featuring cover star Aaron Judge.
Storylines Mode: Season 4 returns to highlight legendary historical stars from the Negro Leagues and baseball history, featuring icons like Roy Campanella and Mamie “Peanut” Johnson.
Road to the Show Overhaul: Expand your custom ballplayer’s career journey, starting from high school and college—including the licensed NCAA College World Series—before getting drafted to the big leagues.
Gameplay Upgrades: Introduces Bear Down Pitching (banking high-leverage boosts for clutch situations), Big Zone Hitting for accessible swing mechanics, and an interactive Automated Ball-Strike (ABS) Challenge System for home plate calls.
Deeper Franchise & Diamond Dynasty: Features a dedicated Trade Hub with multi-player deals and dynamic trade delays, a new Parallel XP (PXP) 2.0 modding system for card customisation, and World Baseball Classic tournament integrations.
Wobbly Life (PS5, PS4) is a vibrant, physics-based open-world sandbox game where you play as a customizable, jelly-like character kicked out of home to find a job and earn a living.
Co-op & Exploration: Play fully in 4-player online or 2-player local split-screen co-op, exploring secret caves, completing side quests, and discovering hidden collectables together.
Physics Sandbox Gameplay: Work over 50 varied mini-game-style jobs (e.g., delivery driver, firefighter, chef) across a massive island filled with dynamic ragdoll physics.
Earn & Upgrade: Spend hard-earned cash on custom outfits, vehicles, pets, and upgradeable houses ranging from tiny apartments to luxury mansions.
All three titles are available from September 1 to October 5, 2026. Head to the PlayStation Store, log in with your PS Plus account, and add the games to your library.
